Earning the Tax Credit

Now that your project has qualified for either the 10 percent or 20 percent federal rehabilitation tax credit, you must follow certain steps to actually earn the credit. The process for earning the 10 percent credit is very different from the process for earning the 20 percent credit.

• If you are a 10 percent rehabilitation tax credit candidate, learn how to earn the 10 percent credit.
• If you are a 20 percent rehabilitation tax credit candidate, learn how to earn the 20 percent credit.
